On Saturday, May 13th, Corning Rotary collaborated with Friends of the Chemung River Watershed for a river cleanup initiative, demonstrating the Rotary spirit of service. From 10 am to noon, a dedicated group of volunteers, including students from Interact participated in the event. Interact, a Rotary organization for youth, fosters leadership and community engagement among young individuals.
Rotarian Yumiko organized the event. She ensured the success of the river cleanup, bringing together the Corning Rotarians, Interact students, and Friends of the Chemung River Watershed. Through Yumiko's guidance, the group made a significant contribution to the preservation and well-being of the Chemung River, exemplified Rotary's commitment to empowering young minds, and making a positive impact in the community.
