Our Annual Changeover Picnic comes each year at the end of June – and is the “changing of the gavel” for Corning Rotary; our previous President [Jen Batzing] retires and we introduce our new President [Pauline Emery]. Our meeting also featured one of our Corning Rotary Scholarship winners, two Paul Harris recognitions, and the induction of 5 new members to our Club, and more! Thank you to Boomers Burrito Bar for a delightful buffet meal!
First we started with one of our scholarship winners telling us about their plans for next year - Jay Gilbert
Then, President Jen gave us the updated fundraising amount for Camp Star from our last meeting: $1240 !!!!!
Les took us into the history of Paul Harris and then recognized club members Pete Winnett and Jim Webb for their contributions.
Kris Grant was introduced to the club – she's transferred from Colorado and will be a member of Corning Rotary. Welcome Kris!!
THE NEW MEMBERS

Next up, Ted, with Ernie, provided a great summary of the Interact Club and High School Learning Center activities of the past year. The students had a conflict and could not attend the picnic, but Ted brought a big thank-you from them.
[Nearly] Finally, a Summerfeast update from Stu!! Be sure to visit the FaceBook site, comment, share etc!! Tickets are available – and a volunteer sign up is coming. This is going to be a fun, super fundraiser – with great live music, Hawaiian theme, JR's best BBQ fixin's, and I hear that even ducks may be involved. There are GAMES !!
Now the official part …. First, President Jen presented the history of her rejoining Rotary and becoming Club President. Then some of the highlights during her term. AND NEXT ---- the passing of the Presidency to our new President, Pauline Emery! Pauline shared her thoughts regarding her goals for the upcoming year: a year where we're going to grow closer as friends – and do more amazing things!
