The Rotary Club of Corning hosted its 19th annual International Evening on Saturday, March 2, 2019, at the Radisson Hotel Corning. According to the organizers, the event raised over $16,000, to be used to support critical Rotary humanitarian projects around the world.
This year’s International Event Honorary Chair was Michael Printup, President of Watkins Glen International. A Western New York native, Printup has served as President of the world-renowned road racing facility since 2009.
The event featured cuisine from around the world, silent and live auctions, inspiring entertainment, dancing and more. Event organizers also organized a raffle, and the grand prize winner received a new iPhone XR.
Talented singer/songwriter/pianist Mason McDowell was the featured headliner. A graduate of Purchase College Conservatory of Music, McDowell has performed at numerous well-known New York City venues including Rockwood Music Hall, Arlene’s Grocery, The Shrine, and the New York Songwriters Circle. As a Music Director, his credits include Little Shop of Horrors (Purchase College), 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Colgate University), Girlfriend (the Kitchen Theatre Company), and West Side Story at Hamilton College. McDowell released his first full-length album, Pictures in My Mind, in 2016.
