[August 2020] Members of the Rotary Club of Corning continue to serve the critical needs of our local community during the pandemic, as evidenced by the Clubâs recent partnership with the Salvation Army for its âShepherdâs Tableâ community service event.
On Sunday, August 30, a group of Rotarians and family members prepared and packed a total of 55 meals for community members suffering from food insecurity. The theme of the event was âsummer grilling,â and each meal pack consisted of a hamburger, hot dog, piece of fruit, bag of chips, and cookies.
The food was prepared and donated by Rotarians Yumiko Akiba, Stacy Ward, Theresa Rossettie, Wendy Winnett, Francis LaLomia, Jan Harvey, Rick Davis, and Russ Miller (on behalf of Corning Natural Gas). The packers included: Sue and Bill Boland, Ernie Danforth, Yumiko Akiba, Stacy and Sofia Ward, and Theresa Rossettie.
Corning Rotary is thankful to be able to continue its long tradition of providing Service Above Self to members of the community in the greater Corning area, especially during these trying times.
