57 Second Grade Students and 7 Teachers from Severn Elementary School
Instead of the normal Thursday meeting this week, a special celebration was held Friday, May 19th, to celebrate the graduation of the Severn Elementary School second grade students from the three-year reading literacy program. This program began when these kids were in kindergarten and first received the " I Read, You Read" books. This 
program continued through the first and the second grades. Today's celebration served as recognition of the students' success.
The students were treated to a "fancy" served lunch of chicken fingers, French fries and cookies while the adults (both teachers and Rotarians) ate pasta primavera.
Nora Smith presented Jennifer Batzing representing the school district the Rotary Certificate of Appreciation in recognition of the cooperation of Severn teachers and principle in making this program so successful.
Three students read thank you letters they had written to the Rotary Club.
