Corning Rotary welcomed Yannick Basabakwinshiinto our club on 10-17-25.
He is a distinguished professional with degrees in Computer Science, Mathematics, and a master’s from Cornell University. He is an entrepreneur and IT consultant who founded a software company with over 80 solutions, contributes to U.S. government projects under security clearance, and co-owns an AI platform with significant market potential.
In addition, he has built an extensive real estate portfolio over 18 years, strategically investing in residential and commercial properties with a focus on long-term, high-quality tenants.

Rachel Goyette recently relocated to Corning, NY, where she is establishing a real estate business with Howard Hanna in Horseheads and overseeing the renovation of the former Rosewood Inn into short-term rentals. With a background in event marketing for a global bicycle brand, Rachel brings strong organizational and communication skills to the Corning Rotary Club and looks forward to supporting its event planning and outreach efforts.
She is also an endurance sports coach, helping athletes reach competitive goals in marathon and triathlon events. In her spare time, Rachel enjoys baking and staying active with her rescue dogs.
Rotary Scholarship Recipients Honored At the July 24th, 2025 meeting, the Corning Rotary Club proudly recognized this year’s scholarship recipients from the Corning-Painted Post School District. Each student exemplifies the Rotary motto, Service Above Self, through academic excellence, leadership, and community service.
Good Grief Week is organized by CareFirstNY, located in Corning N.Y. and is in partnership with the Southeast Steuben County Library (Corning NY) and FLX Works (Watkins Glen, NY). The Corning Rotary Club is supporting this program using the 2025-2026 District Grant.
Good Grief week is a week of activities to help children; teens and their loved ones navigate the process of grief. CareFirstNY provides compassionate end of life care, grief counseling and mental health counseling. Rotary funding will help supply programming, art supplies, books, and marketing materials.
