Corning Entertains at Camp STAR

Monday, August 11th, was the Corning club’s Pizza and Dance Night at Camp STAR, a week-long camp for children, ages 6 through 12, with a physical or developmental disability that might keep them from enjoying a typical camping experience.

Supported by eight Rotary clubs in the Southern Tier, the camp was held at the Y at Watson Woods, a 400-acre family event and retreat center a hop, skip and jump from Corning. The various Rotary Clubs provide special entertainment and activities throughout the week.

Eight Rotarians from the Corning club served pizza, donated by Wegman’s, and DJ Curtis, supplied by Bobby K Entertainment, provided the music. It is wonderful to see the number of returning campers and counselors. Never doubt how much Camp STAR means to the community and the campers!
