Today's lunch was ham, au gratin potatoes and apple crisp.  Perfect fall meal.  President Dale Wexell called the meeting to order with the standard song, Pledge and Invocation.

Club Service providers for this meeting were:

  • Photographer – Dick Perry
  • Invocation – Tom O'Brien
  • COGS – Jan Harvey

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Stu Sammis crowed about the booth the club had at the Harvest Festival. We gave away 26 dozen donuts and 20 gallons of cider.  Leftovers were delivered to the Salvation Army for their harvest dinner.  We met several new prospects for club membership.  AND!  $296.00 was donated for our literacy efforts at Winfield and Severn schools!

Sign up for Wine Glass Marathon support. We have a number of signs, arrows and cones to place. It's a wonderful chance to do community service and watch the sunrise! 10-1-23.  You can sign up by clicking on the event in the left-hand column of the home page or right here.

Ray Denfendorf thanks the 18 club members who pledged to donate sewing machines as part of the Global Grant for Soyodi in Uganda.  For information on how you can also donate, please get in touch with Ray.  He will be doing 6 more presentations over the next month to other clubs in our district.

President Dale informed the club concerning the joint club meeting with the Kiwanis and the Lions Clubs on Tuesday, November 21st.  Details and speaker to be announced soon.

GOOD NEWS!

John Brown was vacationing in Maine when the area he was in suffered a direct hit from Hurricane Lee.  Power was lost as was water service.  He was glad to be home.

Dick Perry had a skunk under his porch.  Dale mentioned that the City of Corning has a skunk removal program.

NEW MEMBER INDUCTION

Bill Boland introduced Gretta Tomb as our newest member.  Gretta was a Rotarian who dropped out of the club when she began to work at the Veterans Hospital in Bath.  After 15 years away, she is now returning to the fold.  Welcome back, Gretta!

President Dale was the speaker today.  He presented a Club  Awareness
presentation on Harassment, Sexual Harassment, Hostile Environment and
Microaggressions to fulfill Rotary International and District 7120 directives.

The video of the meeting will be available shortly and there will be a mailing to club members on how to take the training course as well.

Rotary Interact

[material provided by Rotary International]

Take action, build international understanding, and make new friends around the world.

Interact clubs bring together young people ages 12-18 to develop leadership skills while discovering the power of Service Above Self. Find out how serious leadership can be seriously fun.

What are the benefits?

Connect with leaders in your community and around the world to:

  • Take action to make a difference in your school and community
  • Discover new cultures and promote international understanding
  • Become a leader in your school and community
  • Have fun and make new friends from around the world

What’s involved?

Interact clubs organize at least two projects every year, one that helps their school or community and one that promotes international understanding. Rotary club sponsors mentor and guide Interactors as they carry out projects and develop leadership skills.
